After returning my car lease, how can I find the auction house auctioning it?
Q. Banks (Chase for example) auction off returned car leases at the end of the lease. I am wondering if there is a way of finding out specifically which auction is going to be auctioning it.
Asked by iansamis - Thu Apr 19 12:08:53 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If you really love the car and want to buy it, call the company you leased the vehicle from and ask if they will sell it to you at a reduced price. Usually in the contract there will be a stated amount that the vehicle could be bought for at the end of the lease. Check it out and see if you would be willing to pay that amount or make an offer to them. Auctions can get a price lower for you but you might have to add a buyers premium to the cost you bid. In our area it is 10 percent. Auction car sales prices are low for the banks so they might just take you up on an offer.

Where will Sarah Palin be donating her used clothes and money from auctioning them off?
Q. Im doing a debate at school and I'm Sarah Palin I wanted to bring up how people are making fun of her about her clothes, and that she is donating them to charity and auctioning them off to raise money for charity and giving some back to the stores. I tried to find the charities, but all I found was the Pitt Bull Rescue Central (for dogs) and a chairty that helps abused women restart their lives. Are those right? is there any more? thanks for all your help!

A. If the RNC is going to donate her clothes there are many worthy charities. My question is will they really be donated or is this another untruth? The thing that bugs me is that she said that some of them went back to the store, was that after she and her family wore them? Yuck.

Q. Can a bank seize disability benefits after auctioning off a house in Michigan to make up the difference in the selling price?

A. No any income from a government program such as disability and welfare are safe from garnishment from a second party such as a credit card co, bank etc. but the government can garnishee them for things like income tax repayment, loan defaults, fines etc. Once a bank forecloses on your house that is all they are entitled to seize and cannot take other assets to pay off the mortgage debt. The property itself should have been enough to fulfil the obligation and if it wasn't it is the banks problem and they absorb the loss.

Has anyone actually bought or sold something on a free patent auctioning site?
Q. I recently put in an application for a patent and I want to sell it but those patent auctioning sites don't seem very active. Has anyone ever actually sold something on there?
Asked by got_polyjuice - Sun Feb 15 22:15:29 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The hands down best way to sell a patent is with direct connections into a company. If you haven't spent years networking though, that might not be an option for you. The second best way I would say is through people who have connections. This includes companies, but, I can't see a free site doing anything. The problem with "free" sites is that they have no revenue stream to back up with they offer. How can a site that charges nothing provide infrastructure to help you sell a patent? The one site that I have had a great experience with and heard a lot of positive info about is They have a loyal following.

A. I used to be an apprentice auctioneer. When you hire an auctioneer, he usually lists your property for a nominal amount (like $1) and directs people that the property is to be sold at auction (thus in theory it can sell for $1, but likely won't). The auctioneer then markets the property in a manner to get people to pre-inspect the property and show up on a specific day and time to bid on the property. A good auctioneer will have a large database of investors and others who have attended similar auctions for similar pieces of property. Sometime a bunch of different properties are grouped together to co-op marketing dollars to bet more people there on auction day. How much did Republicans make auctioning Sarah Palin's Clothes?
Q. Was it a secret auction as I have not heard the results. They promised to auction therm off so I assumed they already did? How much did they raise? I don't think they will fit Bobby Jindall or Mitt Romney so they will have to go if they haven't already. Do they include Bristol's maternity clothes or is she planning on needing them again? Nancy Pelosi's plane? Do you mean the ones Bush made mandatory after 9/11?

A. If Palin had kept them, she would have had to add their value to her income, and then possibly pay tax on it. I do want to point out that Palin's weaknerr was not her clothing or her family foibles, but her purely ideological approach to politics and inability to think deeply. She was up on political one-liners, but has no analytical and minimal thinking skills. I am basing my opinion on her public appearances during the campaign.

Of actual concern, however, is that hundreds of thousands of women and children are trafficked into sexual slavery every year around the world, most of whom will never get the chance to have a college degree. Many more work in sweatshop conditions making items such as clothing for purchase by wealthier citizens of the globe. At base, prostitution is the chance people, mostly men, have to BUY another human being for their own use. It's an economic choice for some women, for others there is no choice. How do the cricket players get selected by auctioning?
Q. Can they continue to play with BCCI. IPL, ICL etc. are good for Indian cricket. BCCI will have wider choice of talented & performing players for playing cricket. What is your opinion? I thought Dhoni was worth Rs.6000 crores or more than that!!! It is a pity that he was sold for Rs.6 crores!!! It is a pity that cricket players are being auctioned for a price like a vegetables shop & provision shop for a price - rather very cheap price.

A. IPL Team owners like SRK, Priety Zinta etc and others sit and bid for players. The higher the bid, the more value. Dhoni and Symonds were some high bid players. But the 6 crores don't go to Dhoni, they go to BCCI. Then, for each 20-20 match the players get like 2-5% of the bid value (which is 10 times higher than they earn regularly). Some 10% of it goes to team owners and respective country boards, who give more surplus to their respective players. This way everyone earns lots, but BCCI takes the Cake all the way. Some players are icon players, who are already in the team of their hometown, ex- Sachin was already part of Mumbai and wasn't part of the Auction. Whats the process of auctioning a foreclosure house ?
Q. And how do you call for the foreclosure lists? Like who's in charge of it? Banks? Government? Or just realtors? Kay thanks :D please answer my question .
Asked by Olivia - Mon May 25 01:19:57 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. The process is different from state to state. It starts with the "first legal action" and usually includes a publication in the local newspaper or a notice posted to the door etc and ends with an auction. But every state is different. The way to get a list is again depends on the state, the best way thought is to look in the legal notices of you local newspaper for a notice of sale. Every notice of sale indicates a house that will be auctioned soon. Just so you know the people who make these lists get the information from the newspapers or the court records and compile it into a list and then charge money for it. But this information is available to the public people just don't know where to get it but should not have to pay for it.

A. You will start in the same place as you would for auctioning an item. Buy it now is an option you can select as you go through the sell your item form. However, if I remember from my early days on Ebay, you must have at least 10 feedback in order to have access to list Buy It Now. If you are brand-new to Ebay, you may need to list several items at auction before progressing to other functions.

A. What do you mean how does it work? If someone sees a product they are interested it they will either begin a bidding war or they will bid up to a max amount they are willing to pay for the product. Ebay will automatically bid it up if it receives another bid.
